Taryn Everdeen

Taryn Everdeen is a 21-year-old creative from the UK, currently studying photography and video at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France. She is passionate about people, and likes to explore the mediums of photography and film to help others tell their own stories. Engaged in activism, her work focuses on themes of gender and sexuality, the environment, and body image, with human connection being at the heart of everything she does.

At the end of college, she took a gap year, and spent the first half traveling the world solo, staying with local people for free through CouchSurfing. It was during this time that she discovered the open mic community and, three years later, she is finishing the post-production of a documentary about it.

Taryn’s film “Stolen Skin,” an audio-visual project created alongside fellow creative Nell Basley, landed them as category winners at the international film festival ConnectHer 2020, and was selected as IntoFilm's Film of the Month in March 2020. She was also involved with BBC Radio Norfolk's show for young people The Social, sitting in as a co-presenter, facilitating interviews, and helping to create content. She is an alumni member of the Young Norfolk Arts Collective.

In 2022, she directed a French language documentary 'The Best Wine in the World', a thirty-minute film which tells the story of a man who lives in the Burgundy countryside. With interviews from friends and family, as well as from the man himself, she offers a glimpse into his folkloric world. The film was projected as part of an open-air screening at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.

She is a videographer at JUV Consulting, a global Gen-Z consultancy agency based in New York, where she has worked on projects with Fortune 500 companies, as well as helping to produce content for JUV’s own social media.

In her spare time, she enjoys songwriting, oil painting, and cooking with chickpeas. She’s also a big fan of interesting tea.
