Syd Lamendola

Syd Lamendola (they/she/he) is a Junior at Bard High School Early College Manhattan in New York City. They have always enjoyed movies and TV shows, taking a special interest in horror and comic books in the past year. Though horror is their favorite genre, they enjoy all sorts of stories. The two main criteria that they look for in a story are: does it make them think, and is it fun?

Outside of film, Syd also enjoys philosophy, reading, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. Syd writes for a publication at their school called The Underground which emphasizes student voices and free speech. Syd is currently working on a superhero comic book and a dark fantasy novel that integrates the casual representation of LGBTQ+ superheroes and superheroes of color with themes of equality and found family.
