Blue Moon Turning Into Grey

On June 15, 2021, the Marshyangdi river flooded, washing away many homes of Taal village, one of the finest tourist spots in Manang district, Nepal.

Nikita, who had been pursuing her 10th grade studies in school and living in a nearby hostel, now has to walk three hours from her home to reach the makeshift-classrooms inside tents. The broken computers, ruined classrooms, buried books and lost boots show their hopes being washed away by the climate change induced flood.

Similarly, an adult resident shares his experiences, comparing the Taal of his childhood to now. Fifty-nine households, thousands of painful stories, yet, they haven’t lost hope. They are living amid hopelessness with hope of rebuilding their lives.
