Lloyd Edgar

Lloyd Edgar is a writer/director and broadcast editor from Newtownards, Northern Ireland. His career began in commercial video production where he learned the technical skill that he would later deploy on both long and short form fiction and factual productions.

Lloyd’s first short film, “What We Left Behind” is a story of modern love. The film explores the expectations placed on young people and the impact technology has on relationships.

Lloyd’s follow-up short film, “See You in the Encore”, is currently in its final stages of pre-production. The film explores the dynamic relationships within one family and how connections are formed across generations during times of great change.

Lloyd is currently directing a half hour documentary for Ronin Films and BBC Northern Ireland about Olympic finalist and Commonwealth Games champion Rhys McClenaghan.
